A punchy flower power industry event with plenty of pattern play
We hosted a punchy, flower-powered planner event to showcase our 38,000 sq. ft. estate, award-winning culinary program, and position Dover Hall as the ultimate destination for a Wedding Weekend Experience on the East Coast. So come along with us as we recap the entire evening of pattern play! The design details were curated by the dream team led by Laura Ritchie with Grit + Grace Inc. Tables snaked down our grand ballroom, each topped with unique linens and matching seat cushions—a chef's kiss to the Something Vintage team. Also, peep the cutie floral clusters growing from the chair ends by Sophie Felts.
When guests arrived at Midsummer at Dover Hall, we immediately swept them away for an interactive tour of our estate. The fabulous The Veil Hair and Makeup Co hosted a lip and lash bar in Queen Elizabeth so our guests could get a little taste of the getting-ready experience at Dover Hall. A few of our first-floor rooms featured culinary stations, and we even had Silvia from SV Fine Art doing watercolor guest portraits on the Mezzanine. Specialty cocktails were enjoyed, and a few of our most creative and colorful culinary dishes were savored.
You'd never guess that the dinner location was actually Plan B. We had a lovely al fresco dining experience planned, but Virginia weather had other ideas. Good thing our rain plan was a 2,400-square-foot ballroom. Dinner music was performed by the talented RVA Harpist, and then the mood switched later in the evening thanks to Drew Dunbar and his singer-songwriter music style.
We couldn't highlight this event without talking about the culinary experience. Led by Virginia's Chef of the Year, our Executive Chef, Leah Randolph, prepared a thoughtful four-course meal paired with our very own 7 Lady Vineyards wines. The culinary aspect is such a big part of what we do here at Dover Hall. The meal started with a bright and colorful amuse bouche featuring compressed watermelon and mint oil and ended with seared scallops with a roasted corn puree. The dessert course was then moved to the first floor in the Dining Room for a grand reveal. Our Frangelico panna cotta with passion fruit gelee was displayed over dry ice for the ultimate wow moment.
A BIG thank you to every guest to traveled near and far for this event, and to all of the vendor partners who made this event truly come alive. Click HERE to view the video recap!
